HELLO WINTER SUN, HELLO WIDE BEACH, HELLO LITTLE EXHALING CLOUDS AND HELLO WIND!
We at the Baltic Sea in Schleswig-Holstein embrace autumn and winter, because the winter sun makes the water glisten, the view extends to the horizon, the air is cold but clear, it's good to take a deep breath and the wind blows your head clear. It's not just dark and gray here, it's beautiful!
Admittedly, even here the sun sometimes hides behind thick clouds, the days seem far too dark and the rain pours down - but then we always have something to escape the gray here and there between Glücksburg and Travemünde as well as in Holstein Switzerland:
In October, illuminations light up the darkness during the sea of lights, and in some places the (LED) light installations stay in the trees for longer. Small events such as concerts and readings provide little escapes. Some beach bars become winter bars with mulled wine and punch and in some places, night watchmen and women with lanterns guide you through narrow alleyways. So, get out of the gray and into a little winter break.
