Open Graph Tags
Share content in an optimized way & generate more traffic
Take control of how content is displayed on social networks with custom Open Graph tags.
To generate more traffic, it is worth sharing publications and individual content on social networks. The key here is: The more appealing the preview on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & Co, the more likely users are to click.
The Open Graph tags can now be stored in a dedicated area for the entire publication and for individual pages. This way you can individually define how your shared image, your title and your description should look like when sharing.
For the entire publication, the settings can be made under Project Settings >> SEO. The information stored here is loaded when the main domain, the so-called Root URL is shared.

In order to set the OG tags for individual pages of a publication, the predefined fields in the SEO tab should be filled out when editing the page.
Good to know: If no individual Open Graph tags are set, the title page is automatically used when sharing. For the text, the system will chronologically access the header first, the subheader and finally the page name. When uploading an Open Graph image, it is important to ensure that they are not too large (< 1 MB).
Meta Tags
To be seen and clicked
Get the attention of your readers with meaningful metadata, stand out from other pages and generate more clicks.
Metadata tells both the search engine and your readers what content to expect on the landing page and is an important lever in search engine optimization.
The most important elements for optimizing the metadata are the title tag and the meta description. The title tag is used by Google & Co to analyze and index the page. The meta description provides further information about the content of the target page.
It is important that the descriptions always communicate added value and thus offer the readers an incentive to click.
Meta tags can be set for the entire publication as well as for selected pages. Under Project Settings >> SEO you can make the setting for your main domain, the so-called Root URL.

For individual pages you can find the predefined fields in the page editing of your publication in the tab SEO .
The fields do not necessarily have to be filled either for the entire publication or at page level. Search engines such as Google & Co also determine the required data independently and select text modules from the page. However, manual optimization is often more informative and concise and therefore recommended to further improve the success of your digital publication.
Tips for the title tag:
- Should contain the keyword for which the page is optimized
- Be careful with the length and do not exceed 40 to 65 characters, otherwise Google will cut off the headline and replace it with three dots
Video Thumbnails
Define individual thumbnails
Decide which video start image you want to appear in your digital publication.
Start and preview images of videos are not always optimal, although they should encourage the reader to click. For example, in some cases the first still image is blurred or even only a black screen appears. With the new feature, this problem can be solved perfectly and creates the possibility to determine which image should be displayed at the start of a video.
In the Novamag Media Library, you can optionally set an individual preview image for all video files in the detail view. Here, you should make sure that the thumbnail image has the same format as the video. The thumbnail image can simply be uploaded under Add a custom Thumbnail using drag & drop.

Dynamic QR-Codes
Determine target links on a flexible basis
Optimally linked with each other! Make your readers aware of your digital content offline.
The use of QR codes has gained relevance and visibility especially recently. They are a strong marketing tool that can be used in many ways. They are ideal for drawing the attention of readers to your online offers. Whether it's further information, tutorial videos, coupons or surveys - direct your readers to the target in a targeted manner and without detours.
With the new feature, you can create any number of QR codes in Novamag and link them flexibly to a new page at any time. No matter whether already printed and distributed: each QR code retains its validity and the target linking can also be easily changed afterwards.
The module for creating QR codes can be found in the Novamag backend under Project Overview >> QR Codes. With the button ADD NEW QR CODE you can quickly create, manage and download QR codes.
